The adrenals are small, lima-bean shaped glands vital to the production of hormones that assist in alleviating stress and allergic reactions, improving muscle tone, regulating blood-sugar and endurance. The adrenal cortex bark secretes many hormones, including cortisone, dihydrocortisone and aldosterone.
